Lata Nott

Deputy Director of Policy

Lata Not serves as Deputy Director of Policy at State Voices. In this role, she works with national organizations and state tables to advance access to voting and fair representation.

Prior to joining State Voices, she was the Executive Director of the First Amendment Center at the Freedom Forum, an organization that she continues to serve as a fellow. She is passionate about First Amendment and free expression issues, and believes that the highest purpose of speech is to bring about change in society. She joined State Voices in order to work on the barriers that keep people from being able to vote for the changes they wish to see and make their voices heard by people in power.

Lata earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. She is licensed to practice law in New York. While she grew up in California, she currently lives in Washington, D.C.
