Together, we can build a multiracial democracy that allows all of us to thrive and live in our full dignity.
The State Voices Affiliated Network is a nonpartisan network of 25 state-based coalitions called “State Tables” that collectively partner with over 1,200 organizations. Together, we fight for a world where every vote is counted, every voice is heard, and every need is met.
As advocates, organizers, and activists united across the U.S., we work together to fight for a healthy democracy and political power for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI), and all people of color (BIPOC).
Whether State Tables and their partners are running voter registration drives, sharing COVID-19 information with communities, or advocating for reproductive justice, we fight for the needs of our communities and know we’re strongest together.
All power should be with the people.
We must create a democracy where everyone counts, regardless of race, gender, sexuality, disability, nationality, or class.
We must create a democracy that enables everyone to have the resources they need to live and thrive.
We must center the experiences, voices, and votes of marginalized people to get there.
We collaborated with seven BIPOC artists, asking them to create art in response to the following prompt: “What does building BIPOC political power mean to you?”

“Prison gerrymandering is a problem created because the Census Bureau counts incarcerated people in the wrong place. It counts them as residents of a prison cell, rather than their home communities."
—@PrisonPolicy Communications Director Mike Wessler
Gerrymandering Denies Incarcerated People Fair Democratic Representation
The US Census counts incarcerated people as residents of prisons, not their home towns — with undemocratic results.

Our democracy is at its best when the people have the power to make their voices heard! We applaud the countless community members who worked tirelessly for years to build awareness and the Senators who voted to eliminate the two-year waiting period.
LB1402 ignores the will of the people. Nebraska voters should have a say!

"What I am most looking forward to about VAPLP & Pod 10 is being in community with the future generation of changemakers, learning what they are engaged in, and how I can expand my perspective to be a better advocate!" @ashlouwho
