Lesley Ramsey has spent the last ten years working in the nonprofit sector as an advocate and organizer on a variety of issues. From 2008-2010, Ramsey served as the Executive Director and Chief Lobbyist for the Texas Association of Planned Parenthood Affiliates. Prior to that, she worked at the Center for Public Policy Priorities as Outreach Director, promoting the center’s research and organizing around the need for a fair and sustainable revenue system for the state. She has also worked on international trade policy and labor issues as Executive Director for the Texas Fair Trade Coalition and on women’s reproductive rights for the National Organization for Women and the Women's Health and Family Planning Association of Texas. Ramsey was a founding board member of the Lilith Fund, and the Texas Women’s Coalition. She has also served on the boards of the Religion and Labor Network of Austin and the Center for Public Deliberation at the University of Houston-Downtown, and the Community Action Network’s Community Council (Austin). Ramsey has a master’s degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin.
