Sean Kosofsky has worked in the non-profit social justice movement for almost two decades. During that time, he has built a national reputation for his expertise in legislative advocacy, diversity training, canvass operations, political campaigns, fundraising and media advocacy.

Currently, Kosofsky serves as the Director of Blueprint NC. Prior to joining Blueprint, he was Executive Director for NARAL Pro-Choice North Carolina in Raleigh, where he lives with his partner. At NARAL, Kosofsky helped lead legislative efforts to mandate comprehensive sex education for students across the state. Prior to his work at NARAL, he spent twelve years as the Director of Policy for the Triangle Foundation, Michigan's leading LGBT civil rights organization, where he was recognized as one of the top LGBT organizers in the state.

A former columnist for Between the Lines, a Michigan-based LGBT newspaper, Kosofsky also was a frequent contributor to the Progressive Magazine's Progressive Media Project. As a college student he worked two summers with PIRGIM, the Public Interest Research Group affiliate in Michigan. In 1995, he was assistant director of the organization's Detroit office.

Kosofsky is a graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., where he earned a degree in political science with a concentration in communications. While in Michigan, he was a fellow with the Center for Progressive Leadership, a member of the board of the Oakland County chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Oak Park City Council's Ethnic Advisory Commission.

He has received a number of awards for his work in LGBT advocacy, including the 1997 Rising Star and the 2002 Prism Award, as well as the Spirit of Detroit Award from the Detroit City Council.
