Maureen Ramirez just began with the MN CET in February, but was closely connected to its work as a leadership council member last year, and as a Wellstone Organizing Fellow. During the 2008 election season, Ramirez coordinated the Minnesota Participation Project at the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits, training and supporting nonprofits in their electoral work. Prior to that, she worked at the University of Minnesota for six years, primarily with low-income and first generation college students. She currently serves on the Minnesota Latino Complete Count Committee for the 2010 Census. In 2007 Ramirez was elected by the state legislature to serve as a Regent of the University of Minnesota. Ramirez completed the Masters Program in Advocacy and Political Leadership at the University of Minnesota Duluth in May 2007, and earned a BA in English and Spanish at Marquette University in 1999.
