Great Education Colorado is a statewide, nonpartisan, grassroots organization that is focused on improving education in Colorado through wise, increased investment in our schools, colleges and universities.

Great Ed Colorado is built on the premise that a quality public education is the key to full and beneficial participation in our society, economy, and democracy. As such, quality preschool, K-12, and higher education experiences—designed to prepare all children for the challenges of our global economy—must be made available and accessible to every child. Through our website, newsletters, blog, social networking sites, speaker’s bureau, and statewide network, we inform public education supporters and the broader community about the causes and impact of Colorado’s education funding crisis, and empower them to be vocal and effective advocates for our schools, colleges, universities—and our children.

In 2010/11, we intend to increase Coloradans’ awareness of: 1) our state’s current failure to fund our public education system (preschool through higher education) sufficiently to provide all students with appropriate educational opportunities that meet their specific and diverse needs; and 2) the urgent need for meaningful statewide budget reform and increased revenues vital to a quality public education for every child.
