Bob Schaeffer has served as coordinator of Florida's 501C3 Civic Engagement Table since its inception as a project of National Voice in late 2003.

For the past two decades, Bob has been a strategic planning and communications consultant for national non-profit organizations, grassroots activist groups, socially responsible businesses and foundations. He has worked in dozens of national, statewide and local campaigns for candidates and ballot questions, coauthored Winning Local and State Elections (Free Press/MacMillan, 1986; paperback edition 1998) and led more than 300 workshops on political campaign management, media relations, public speaking and advocacy skills for groups in 43 states, Canada and Russia.

Prior to becoming a full-time consultant, Bob was Editorial Writer at the NBC-TV affiliate in Boston and host of a talk show on a regional National Public Radio station. He previously served as Research Director for the Massachusetts Legislature's Human Services Committee and directed several social change groups in New England. Bob attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as both an undergraduate and graduate student. He moved to Florida just in time for the 2000 recount election, and resides on Sanibel Island in the Gulf of Mexico. He is a board member of State Voices, ProgressFlorida, and several other organizations.
